BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless announced it will sell the new color-screen CDM-9500 phone, a tri-mode, CDMA 1xRTT-capable device built by Audiovox Communications Corp. and Toshiba.
The phone will also include Qualcomm Inc.’s BREW technology to support Verizon’s “Get It Now” downloadable application service.
Verizon will sell the device for $250 with a two-year service contract and a $100 rebate through Jan. 1 when customers mail in a working wireless phone and proof of purchase documents.
Separately, Nokia Corp. said it will sell its CDMA2000 1xRTT 3585 phone to MetroPCS Inc. The company is also selling the phone through Sprint PCS.
