WASHINGTON-Jonathan Adelstein, former telecommunications aide to Senate Majority Leader Thomas Daschle (D-S.D.), was sworn in on Tuesday as a member of the Federal Communications Commission.
President Bush signed his appointment papers on Monday.
Adelstein’s nomination and confirmation were long and drawn out as the Senate debated over presidential appointments. He was finally confirmed by voice vote last month, but it took nearly three more weeks to get the official paperwork signed. His term expires in June unless he is re-nominated.
