CUPERTINO, Calif.-Portal Software Inc. announced Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) has chosen Portal’s Infranet convergent billing product as the billing solution for its wireless voice, data and content and to replace its legacy billing systems.
TIM will also use the new TelcoOne customer relationship management and billing platform from Portal and Siebel Systems as part of the agreement.
“It has become increasingly evident that the custom legacy billing applications, which have been at the heart of the communications service provider industry for the last decade, are not the applications which will drive new innovation and new ways of doing business,” said Glenn Wienkoop, chief operating officer at Portal.
