SANTA BARBARA, Calif.-Somera Communications said it will realign its North American operations and work force by cutting 10 percent of jobs and consolidating certain operations in an effort to strengthen its equipment and services sales.
“The restructuring charges associated with today’s move, combined with additional steps we might take, could result in a net loss for the current quarter, the extent of which may be aggravated by current telecom market conditions,” said Rick Darnaby, chief executive officer. “At this time, we can not quantify the extent of the operating loss or provide guidance for future performance.”
