NEW YORK-The November Service Provider Confidence Index, developed by Sage Research Inc., Natick, Mass., showed confidence rising despite a decline in assessment of current conditions.
The latest bi-monthly survey reflects responses from 125 incumbent and competitive wireline operators, mobile carriers and Internet service and applications providers worldwide. The index is designed to analyze their current and near-term outlook, thereby providing guidance to companies that seek to sell them goods and services.
“The continued upward trend shows a remarkable streak of optimism among service providers, despite the ever-worsening current conditions,” said Chris Neal, a research director at Sage.
“The fact that both the current conditions and expectations indices for capital spending and revenues are up sharply is a large part of the reason service providers see tomorrow’s blue skies behind today’s clouds.”
