SAN JOSE, Calif.—Global semiconductor sales hit $12.68 billion for the month of November, slightly up from the $12.51 billion reported in October, and well above the year-ago’s $10.6 billion, according the Semiconductor Industry Association.
“The November sales of the global chip industry underscore the healthy recovery that has been building momentum throughout the year,” said George Scalise, SIA’s president. “The wireless sector continues to be the strongest single market.”
SIA predicts that chip sales for the full year 2002 will grow just 1.8 percent to $141 billion, but will surge 19.8 percent in 2003 to $169 billion for the year.
