LAS VEGAS-ReCellular Inc. will attend this year’s CES show in Las Vegas to demonstrate its services. The company refurbishes used cellular phones and markets them to companies that resell them in developing countries.
“We’ve identified several thousand enterprises around the world that are constantly looking for specific makes, models or technologies,” said Eric Forster, vice president of sales and marketing. “Regardless of the phone, regardless of the wireless platform, as soon as the phone is ready, we’ve got a buyer who is ready to purchase it for resale.”
ReCellular shares a portion of its revenues with the original donor, and anticipates paying more than $10 million this year for phones it collects. The company restored 2 million phones in 2002 and expects to process 4 million in 2003.
