SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.-Apple Computer Inc. has unveiled a wide-screen laptop computer with a wireless networking technology five times faster than the available standard.
The 17-inch-screen Titanium PowerBook will hit retail shelves in February, while the 12-inch screen PowerBook will hit retail shelves in two weeks.
Apple also is staking out the product as a rival to Microsoft Corp.’s Windows operating system.
