PARIS-Smart card maker Gemplus said it suffered an operating loss of $17.8 million in its fourth-quarter report, before restructuring costs.
The company said its full-year revenue was $101.6 million on sales of $845.5 million. The card maker attributes the poor result to the market slowdown, weak demand among Asian telecom companies and price pressures.
