MELBOURNE, Australia-Wireless communications services provider SkyNetGlobal announced this week the transfer of its assets to Telstra will proceed in quarterly payments during the next two years.
According to SkyNetGlobal, Telstra has paid it A$925,000 (US$543,000) toward the company’s purchase. In a statement, SkyNet said the payments were for its wireless local area network (WLAN) assets located at various hot spots in Australia and overseas and business contracts with Rydges Hotels and Qantas Airways.
SkyNetGlobal will also receive payments of A$225,000 (US$132,000) during the next two years from Telstra, bringing the total to A$2.73 million (US$1.6 million). Another A$575,000 (US$338,000) will be paid for three other access agreements that SkyNetGlobal holds with other hot spot owners.
