CANNES, France-The Mobile Communications Department of the Institut Eurecom announced the release of UMTS TDD software under a GNU public license developed within the PLATON platform, an open platform that enables the experimentation and implementation of applications, services and devices for future-generation mobile systems.
Demonstrations are taking place at this week’s 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France. Beginning this summer, academic players and R&D laboratories should be able to use an experimental version of the platform for real-time testing of radio protocols and applications.
