Mediator chosen for Forsee employment dispute

ATLANTA-BellSouth Corp. and Sprint Corp. selected former FBI and CIA director William Webster to mediate the ongoing dispute between the two telecommunications providers concerning the future of current BellSouth vice chairman Gary Forsee.

BellSouth is trying to prevent Forsee from joining Sprint Corp., which is trying to hire Forsee to replace its current chief executive William Esrey, claiming a contract clause prohibits Forsee from moving to a competitor for 18 months after leaving BellSouth.

A decision on Forsee’s future is expected by March 12.
