Psion Teklogix gets Defense contract

WASHIGNTON-Psion Teklogix announced it will provide a new 802.11-based wireless system for the U.S. government’s Defense Logistics Agency for three Defense Distribution Centers in Texarkana, Texas, New Cumberland, Pa., and Tracy, Calif., responsible for the distribution of clothing, textiles, electronics, medical materials, industrial equipment to the military.

The system, valued at $8 million, includes wireless gateways and network controllers for wireless connectivity as well as vehicle-mount and handheld computers for the staff. The equipment will provide workers in the centers with real-time access to inventory management and supply chain tools.
