PARIS-In its second contract win this week, Alcatel said it will supply Pakistan’s Mobilink with equipment for a GSM network expansion. The contract is valued at $15 million.
Alcatel said the new equipment will allow Mobilink to increase its capacity by 1 million subscribers and to offer enhanced mobile voice and data services nationwide.
Mobilink, owned by Egypt-based Orascom Telecom, has more than 1 million subscribers.
Alcatel won a UMTS contract with Austria’s Tele.ring earlier this week.
