HELSINKI, Finland-Ahead of its quarterly earnings report, Nokia Corp. said it plans to cut 1,800 jobs in its infrastructure division, the second such action in the year.
The company also plans to review its research and development plans with a view to slashing losses. It already cut 550 job in February.
“These decisions were taken against the backdrop of the market guidance given by the company on March 11 that Nokia Networks would post a substantial loss for the first quarter of 2003, as well as general market conditions in the network infrastructure business,” said the company.
