CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-Businesses looking to deploy wireless devices and services can easily shave costs by waiting for device prices to drop as well as standardizing on one platform, according to research and consulting firm Giga.
The firm said device prices can drop by $100 or more the first few months after a device is released, thus offering significant savings for companies that wait to purchase wireless devices. Also, the firm said standardizing on one particular device will cut down on the cost of multiple servers to support multiple device types.
