BOSTON-NewburyOpen.net and Tech Superpowers joined to demonstrate Wi-Fi technology during the Boston Marathon last month.
The companies’ “Surfin’ Marathon” project included: two Wi-Fi-enabled vehicles, including one with two Internet-enabled kiosks; a video crew using Apple’s iMovie to create Web-sized movies; a video crew documenting the event; Apple Xserve Staging Server running OS X server; and Sun Web Server serving final content. The project allowed the companies to show details from the marathon as it happened by using Wi-Fi technology from the center of the action.
