CHICAGO-PCTel Inc. said it has unveiled a soft access point module, known as Segue, to enable notebooks or desktop PCs to function as Wi-Fi access points and routers.
“With the Segue, any location that has wired broadband access can be instantly converted to a wireless network simply by using a PC equipped with WLAN client card,” said the company. “There is no need to have a wireless router or access point.”
