REDMOND, Wash.-AT&T Wireless Services Inc. introduced its TXT-411 text messaging-based directory assistant service that the carrier said provides text-access to the White and Yellow Pages.
The carrier said the service will allow customers to send a text message with a directory assistance query to the abbreviated number or short code “2411.” The queried information will then be sent back to the handset via a text message.
The service is available to all postpaid customers with two-way text messaging capable handsets, with customers charged 40 cents for each business or individual listing they receive and 90 cents for driving directions.
