Sprint PCS added movie reviews from Hollywood trade publication Daily Variety and up-to-the minute professional baseball scores and updates to its PCS Vision 1KTV service. The downloadable Java-based service allows wireless customers to watch slide shows and hear information and breaking news.

Cingular Wireless L.L.C. introduced a pair of Nokia Corp. handsets for its networks including the GSM/GPRS-enabled Nokia 6800 and TDMA-enabled Nokia 3560. Cingular said the color-screen Nokia 6800 is compatible with the carrier’s 850 MHz and 1900 MHz GSM/GPRS network, includes flip access to a full back-lit QWERTY keyboard and supports SMS and Java functionality for downloading applications. The handset is expected to sell for $250 with a two-year service agreement.

Dobson Communications Corp. reported Bank of America N.A. extended the time for the completion of an amended and restructured loan with Dobson’s majority shareholder Dobson CC Ltd. Partnership until May 16.

Nortel Networks Ltd. said it has signed a $300 million, four-year contract to upgrade the networks of T-Mobile USA Inc. with GSM/GPRS/ EDGE and packet core data gear. The deal covers T-Mobile USA’s New York, Chicago, Dallas, Milwaukee, Denver and Salt Lake City markets.

Nextel Partners Inc. increased the amount of its previously announced agreement to sell $100 million of convertible senior notes due 2008 to $150 million. In addition, Nextel Partners said it granted the initial purchasers an overallotment option to purchase up to an additional $25 million principal amount of notes.

Sprint PCS affiliate US Unwired Inc.’s common stock began trading on the OTC Bulletin Board May 8 after a Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel determined earlier this month that the carrier’s stock price did meet requirements for continued listing on the Nasdaq National Market.
