DRAPER, Utah-Fixed wireless technology manufacturer Broadband Central said it entered a profit-sharing agreement with an undisclosed private sponsor to provide high-speed Internet access using the 802.11 standard to 85 percent of Utah’s residents by August.
Broadband Central said the agreement involves awarding an exclusive contract for 142 of its Blue Zones, which encompass a 1-mile diameter exclusive coverage area, to the sponsor that previously bought 102 of the more than 200 Blue Zones that Broadband Central said it has sold.
Broadband Central noted subscriptions to its service range from $20 per month for synchronous digital connectivity at 128 kilobits per second up to $50 per month for connection speeds between 512 kbps and 1 Megabyte per second. The company added that after the 342 Blue Zones deployments are completed, the service will cover more than 340 miles of footprint in Utah.
