DRAPER, Utah-Broadband Central announced plans to launch more than 700 new 802.11 high-speed Internet access points, or Blue Zones, throughout seven western states.
A minimum of 100 Blue Zones will be deployed in each of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington, offering wireless high-speed Internet access to residents via plans starting at $19.95 beginning in July. The news follows Broadband Central’s announcement last week it plans to deploy 342 Blue Zones in Utah by August. According to the company, the deals will add up to 1,000 miles of Wi-Fi coverage throughout the western United States.
“Since launching the company in November 2002, we have not sought out one additional sponsor, and yet they keep coming out of the woodwork,” said Darin Smith, director of channel sales for Broadband Central. “As it is, we now have Blue Zone sponsors for all of Utah and sponsorship agreements are lined up for a minimum of 100 Blue Zones in each of these seven new states.”
