Some Sony Ericsson European camera phones replaced

LONDON-A limited number of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communication’s high-end T610 camera phones in Europe were replaced due to a technical glitch, but none of the company’s North American batch suffer from the problem.

Sony Ericsson spokeswoman Nicky Csellak-Claeys said a “very limited number” of the company’s T610 phones in Europe were replaced due to a background hissing noise that affected voice calls. Csellak-Claeys had no specific number of affected phones, but said it was less than several thousand. The affected phones were replaced, and the problem was fixed in the manufacturing process.

Csellak-Claeys said the North American version of the phone, the T616, does not suffer from the glitch.
