“These upgrades complete our solution for connectivity to the resources, as and when required,” explained Gill Govier, director of land business development at Inmarsat. ‘They are testament to the value that Inmarsat places on consultation with its partners, sales channels and end-user community.”
Inmarsat’s Regional BGAN solution, which gives users the functionality of GPRS networks but at faster speeds, via satellite, is available in 99 countries across Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Northern Africa, parts of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Indian sub-continent.’
In other satellite news, EMS Technologies Inc.’s EMS SATCOM division said it has received full Inmarsat type approval for its new Fleet 55 Maritime satellite terminal, which will provide global voice services, mobile ISDN and mobile packet data.
