BELLEVUE, Wash.-T-Mobile USA Inc. said it will launch a color-screen version of its Danger Inc.-produced Sidekick device June 6, as well as introduce new rate plans for the wireless voice and data device.
The color Sidekick is scheduled to retail for $299, which is $100 more than the non-color screen model the carrier launched late last year. T-Mobile USA also said it will discontinue selling the non-color screen device once the color Sidekick is launched.
The new rate plans will include $20 add-ons to existing T-Mobile USA voice plans, which provide unlimited e-mail, Web browsing, America Online instant messaging and text messaging. The carrier will also provide a data-only plan for $30 per month, which includes the same unlimited data and short message services and provides voice calling at 20 cents per minute with free long distance and roaming.
