WASHINGTON-Congress passed legislation giving some antitrust protection to industry standards bodies whose work is used by federal agencies.
The measure, sponsored by House Judiciary Committee James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), should provide added legal cover for groups that do telecom standards work, including the Telecommunications Industry Association and Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions.
