MONTREAL-Canadian carrier Microcell Solutions Inc. said it will sell Danger Inc.’s unique Hiptop mobile phone/wireless data device, following the lead of fellow Hiptop sellers T-Mobile USA Inc. and Triton PCS.
“Microcell is committed to working with industry leaders like Danger to provide the devices and technology that our customers want the most,” said Alain Rheaume, Microcell’s president and chief operating officer. “This niche needs to be filled in the youth market in Canada, and this is the perfect solution.”
Microcell said it will sell the device working over its GSM/GPRS network under its Fido brand.
The move comes as more wireless carriers around the world look to differentiate themselves using unique wireless devices.
