Washington-ASCENT Business Solutions, a subsidiary of the Association of Communications Enterprises, and Portland, Ore.-based Consumer Cellular have formed ASCENT Wireless, a new program designed to offer wholesale wireless service to small and medium-sized telecommunications firms.
“The basic intent of ASCENT Wireless is to help our members gain a competitive edge,” explained Walt Blackwell, president and chief executive officer of ASCENT Business Solutions. “Once members can offer wireless, their customers will be able to obtain most, if not all, major communications services from a single source, perhaps on a single invoice. It’s an enticing prospect that should close a lot of deals.”
ASCENT Wireless plans to launch Oct. 1.
