Metawave asks court for permission to sell patents

WASHINGTON-Metawave Communications Corp. is seeking to make some money before the court finally approves its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.

The wireless player asked the bankruptcy court to sell some of its patents pertaining to its antenna system to the highest bidder. In its court filings, the company said Kathrein-Werke KG has agreed to pay $1.75 million for some of its patents.
