TOKYO AND DALLAS-Underlining industry optimism about a rebound in the chip sector, companies are staking out their product positions with a view to differentiating themselves.
Intersil Corp. introduced three 1.4 GHz current feedback amplifiers for high-speed video, test and instrumentation and other high-frequency applications.
“When combined with their low-power consumption, these high-performance CFAs are particularly well suited for portable, handheld and battery-powered applications,” said Sameer Vuyyuru, Intersil’s director of marketing for video and op amps.
LG Electronics said it has chosen TI’s Filter-free amplifiers for four new CDMA phones, which include the LG-KV1300, LG-SV130, LG-SV140 and LG-SV9140.
It is a class-D audio power amplifier.
Also throwing its solution in the mix is NEC Electronics with the announcement of a global positioning system chipset for cell phones and other mobile applications.
