BELLEVUE, Wash.-Forty-eight operators around the world have announced commitments to EDGE technology, according to data released today by the 3G Americas association, which promotes the technology.
In the United States, AT&T Wireless Services Inc., Cingular Wireless L.L.C., T-Mobile USA, Dobson Communications, Cellular One of Northeast Arizona and EDGE Wireless are all on the list.
Telecom Italia Mobile in Italy and Hungary’s Pannon GSM are the only European operators cited by the group as having EDGE plans. Outside the Americas, other operators with planned EDGE deployments are located in the Middle East, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
