STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson announced two infrastructure agreements, one for a W-CDMA network and one for a GPRS system.
Greek operator Cosmote signed a letter of intent with Ericsson for the initial phase of its W-CDMA rollout in Greece through the end of 2004. Ericsson will deliver network infrastructure, including core and radio equipment, along with a range of services. Some of the services will be developed around the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
In addition, Gibtelecom singed an agreement with Ericsson for a GPRS network in Gibraltar. The $2.3 million agreement includes the complete GPRS network and updating the operator’s GSM mobile switch.
