FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.-POSA Tech Inc. recently launched Freedom to Speak, a nationwide prepaid wireless program.
“We created a program that pays the retailer up to $100 for each activation, along with an ongoing residual payment each month the customer pays their bill,” explained Doug Pfeiffer, chief executive officer. “For the consumer, we offer the same type rate plans that credit customers receive but made it into a prepaid program. The customer has no cards or PINs to buy. They choose a rate plan and prepay for that month.”
The program offers five rate plans ranging from $19 per month for 80 anytime minutes to $99 per month for 1,000 anytime minutes. Service is on the Sprint PCS network, and roaming and long distance are included in each plan.
Through the program, a customer buys a phone and then activates it at home and pays monthly bills online or at any Western Union, Money Gram, IPP location or any other retailer POSA enables as a payment center. POSA has activated more than 5,000 handsets to date.
