NEW YORK-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. has reportedly agreed to purchase $1.4 billion worth of wireless spectrum licenses from bankrupt license holder NextWave Telecom Inc., according to Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the situation.
The report said both companies plan to file the agreement with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in White Plains, N.Y., which would need to approve the deal. The agreement would include spectrum licenses in Boston and Los Angeles, but not New York, where Cingular currently offers service through a network-sharing agreement with T-Mobile USA Inc.
