Fried to advise House committee

WASHINGTON-Neil Fried has been named telecommunications counsel for the House Energy and Commerce Committee and will begin his duties Aug. 18.

Fried joins from law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker, where he specialized in broadcast, cable and telecom issues. He was previously an attorney with the Federal Communications Commission.

“I am excited that Neil has agreed to join our staff,” said committee Chairman Billy Tauzin (R-La.). “He has a wealth of knowledge from both the public and private sectors on telecommunications issues and Neil’s experience should prove invaluable to all of the members of our committee.”
