LONDON-Just a day after affirming its rating on L.M. Ericsson, ratings agency Standards & Poor’s has upgraded its outlook for Alcatel Corp. to stable, which is a B+.
The rating, which some analysts see as the end of the vendor’s bleeding, bucks the trend of Alcatel’s ratings fall, which dipped 11 notches from its lofty AA rating.
“Alcatel’s ongoing restructuring program is mitigating the severe market contraction affecting the global telecommunications equipment industry and offsets any short-term liquidity risk,” said S&P analyst Leandro de Torres Zabala.
