MANILA, The Philippines-Globe Telecom, the second-largest mobile operator in the Philippines, launched multimedia messaging service interconnection with more than 30 MMS operators around the world and a new Java-based subscriber identity module card.
Mobileway said it worked with Globe Telecom to help enable Globe’s MMS interconnection, which allows any MMS message to be delivered to subscribers of partner operators in real time.
Schlumberger Smart Cards and Terminals said Globe has made the first commercial launch of its 128K USIMERA SIM card through Globe’s new G-plan Opti-SIM. The card can store up to 750 phonebook entries, 100 text messages and run Java applications.
The Philippines is one of the world’s largest messaging markets.
