WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-The Infrared Data Association (IrDA) announced the latest edition of its “Worldwide Market of Infrared-Enabled Products” report is now available.
According to IrDA, nearly half of the 500 million IrDA products shipped are cell phones, and the rate of IrDA cell-phone implementations has been growing 15 percent to 20 percent annually. IrDA expects demand for these products to continue to increase, especially following the recent completion of version 1.0 of the Infrared Financial Messaging Point and Pay Specification.
The report includes further details on IrDA-enabled products, including statistics on shipments of products broken down by types of IrDA ports, growth estimate forecasts and new application sectors.
