LAS VEGAS-Sony Ericsson released its much-awaited P900 smart phone today. The Symbian operating system-based phone is smaller, faster and simpler than the company’s successful P800 device, Sony Ericsson said.
The device includes video recording capability, a 65K color touch screen and increased memory. The phone’s flash memory has increased from 32 MB to 48 MB RAM. It will be available in Europe and Asia in the fourth quarter, and in the United States and China in the first quarter of 2004.
Sony Ericsson also announced with Handango availability of the Sony Ericsson Application Shop Client for the Sony Ericsson P800, P802 and P900 smart phones. Using the Application Shop Client, users can find, download and buy Symbian OS applications directly from their phones, the companies said.
The handset maker also announced a content deal with Sony Picture Mobile for games, wallpapers, ring tones and other entertainment content based on well-known Sony Pictures Entertainment titles, along with expanded content on its new Fun & Downloads Web page.
