OSHA investigates cell-phone tower death

WASHINGTON-The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and local authorities are investigating the death of a man who died after falling from a cell-phone tower being built by a Massachusetts contractor for Sprint PCS.

Eastern Communications Inc., the firm where the man was employed, is used by Sprint PCS. Authorities have not released the man’s name, though one press report said he was from Arkansas. Eastern Communications did not immediately return a call for comment.

A Sprint PCS spokesman said its sympathies go out to the man’s family.
