HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia will provide its digital TETRA professional mobile radio system to Amec Spie Communications for the Communaute Urbaine de Bordeaux, the Bordeaux metropolitan area authority in France.
Nokia’s system, which is replacing the analog professional mobile network used today, eventually could service 10,000 users in the area. It is expected to begin operation by the end of this year.
“The Communaute Urbaine de Bordeaux is keen to use this high-performance network which will improve not only the efficiency of the departments but also the relationships with our partners,” said Patrick Matignon of the Bordeaux metropolitan area authority.
