WASHINGTON-The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions said it has developed and released a technical document designed to meet challenges wireless carriers are expected to encounter in implementing the local number portability mandate.
ATIS explained its Ordering and Billing Forum’s Wireless Workshop developed the “Wireless Intercarrier Communications Interface Specification for Local Number Portability” document that outlines the processes and procedures necessary for wireless carriers to implement wireless-to-wireless number porting. The document includes operational requirements and technical specifications necessary for the exchange of information between commercial mobile radio service providers regardless of network technology.
