DoCoMo to offer 3G card for PDA users

TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo Inc. said it will begin marketing a new flash card to enable personal digital assistant users to use its FOMA third-generation services. DoCoMo currently provides a card that is applicable only to PCs with PC card slots.

The new P2402 will enable 3G video-phone and other wireless data communications between PDAs and devices such as FOMA handsets, PHS video phones, PHS data card-equipped devices and fixed-line video phones.

The cards will be available by the end of the month, DoCoMo said.

DoCoMo is using video technology from PacketVideo Corp.
