WATERLOO, Ontario-Wireless e-mail company Research In Motion Ltd. continued its international expansion, launching a new BlackBerry device with European carrier MmO2 and racking up deals with Telcel in Latin America and Smart Communications in the Philippines.
To date, RIM’s BlackBerry is available through carrier relationships and roaming agreements on 50 networks in more than 30 countries around the world.
Under RIM’s deal with MmO2, the companies introduced the BlackBerry 7730 handheld, which features a color screen, supports worldwide international roaming on GSM/GPRS networks, and delivers e-mail, phone, text messaging, browser and organizer applications.
