U.S. partially agrees with Europeans over navigational systems

WASHINGTON-The European Commission and the United States said that progress was made in November talks that would allow the European Galileo navigational system to co-exist with the satellite global positioning system used in the United States.

The first agreement was on a “mutually acceptable modulation for Galileo Public Regulated Service,” according to a joint statement.

The meetings were held in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Further talks are expected.
