CHANTILLY, Va.-Strategic advisory and research firm BIA Financial Network Inc. reported that wireless service revenue growth has increased 19.2 percent over the last two years, with some company’s reporting triple-digit increases.
“Revenue growth in the wireless industry is showing a surprising strength, with some companies posting triple digit growth,” said Camilla Jensen, director of communications for BIA. “Leading all others, Nextel Partners grew by 122 percent, with Verizon Communications [Inc.] bringing up the rear with only 2.2 percent.”
BIA added that mergers and acquisitions have also increased from 25 deals last year to 43 so far this year, though private equity transactions have dropped from $6.2 billion last year to $3.3 billion this year.
