Pumatech releases new software

SAN JOSE, Calif.-Synchronization company Pumatech Inc. today released its new Intellisync: goAnywhere software, which the company is selling through its Web site and retail partners for $100 per year.

Pumatech said the software gives personal digital assistant and mobile-phone users remote access to Microsoft Outlook information, including e-mails, calendar and contact information. Users install the software on their desktop computers, then use their Web-capable devices to access Pumatech’s synchronization server to gain access to their desktop files. PDA users can access work documents and e-mail, while mobile-phone users can access Outlook’s contacts information.

“Intellisync: goAnywhere aligns with Pumatech’s long-standing mission to provide easy access to information and keep people in sync,” said Philip Gilbert, director of product management for enterprise markets for Pumatech. “Its ability to provide easy, remote access to information and files located on a host PC creates a virtual digital briefcase-essentially, a mobile office that resides in users’ pockets.”
