SEATTLE-Connexion by Boeing said it signed a letter of intent with China Airlines to bring high-speed connectivity to travelers on commercial flights in and out of Taiwan. The agreement calls for the broadband data and entertainment service to be installed on China Airlines’ long-haul fleet of aircraft beginning in late 2004.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The agreement outlines connectivity on certain long-haul flights between Taipei and Europe and Taipei and North America. The companies will work together to determine the installation schedule and services levels to be offered.
Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines System and Japan Airlines have also signed with Connexion by Boeing as customers for the service.
