DALLAS-New research shows the worldwide market for wireless “infotainment” services will grow from $1.5 billion in 2005 to $7.2 billion in 2008, but such massive success will be contingent on efficient billing models, effective content and improved security and privacy measures.
According to a new research report, “Mobile Infotainment: News, Travel & Information,” from Alexander Resources, the mobile phone could evolve into the focal point of users’ lives. The firm said wireless players should support rather than compete with actual entertainment services, improve the way subscribers communicate and manage their lives, build on highly successful services and technologies such as text messaging, and focus on user’s needs while on the move.
