WASHINGTON-Meredith M. Attwell, a former wireless industry lobbyist, has joined the National Telecommunications and Information Administration as a senior advisor to Acting Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael Gallagher.
“Meredith has the executive branch background, the trade association experience and the legal expertise to be an extremely valuable advisor on the policy challenges facing NTIA,” said Gallagher, who advises the Bush administration on spectrum and telecom policies.
Attwell was director of congressional affairs at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association between 1998 and 2000. Most recently, Attwell was vice president at the firm of Williams Mullen Strategies. Before that, she served as senior counsel to Covad Communications.
